Hello from Benidorm Playa Poniente!
10.10.2018Road Trip Latvia – Spain
I decided to move to Spain with my car as I had to take a lot of things with me. Been on road about 5 days, went thru several countries. On my way was Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, France and finally Spain. Overnight I didn't stop n every country, I stayed in 3 countries which was most comfortable for that - Poland, Germany and France. In Germany I spent more time because there are living my relatives and my mom.
Road was mostly good and no issues, only in Poland had bad experience with not qualitative petrol, so after that car became moody, good that I already was in Germany, had to go to service but problem wasn't serious. Now I know that won't visit petrol stations in Poland again.
My first stop was in Poland in Wroclaw - very nice little town with huge stadium which makes Wroclaw popular for local events such as football games. I did stop in guest house named “The Willton Bed & Breakfast”. Guest house made in half polish half british style, owners are married couple who also built this house, he is from UK and she is Polish. They are very welcoming hosts, told everything about area and where to find food places also markets, everything was 3 min walk though. Great breakfast in the morning too! Poland is popular for tasty food so I didn't miss a chance to go to local restaurant named “Don Padre” and was so right to do that! Food in this place was great and originally served. Menu was all in Polish but as I am russian person was easy for me to understand. Need to come back to Poland for they food and few cities I still want to see, like Krakow for example.
Next stop Germany, Karlsruhe. This is where my relatives live and I did visit this city for a first time. Typical German city and I always loved this style germans got. City also got beautiful Palace surrounded with gardens, palace is also a museum -”Badisches Landesmuseum”. In the center of city had ice cream which was surprisingly tasty! Also visited local shopping center, huge place with all kinda things in it and now it is time when germans getting ready for Oktoberfest so it is full with outfits for this celebration. Germany is always nice to visit.
In Switzerland I didn't stop because wasn't planning even to go thru it bt in the end did rearranged the road. Views from the window driving thru Switzerland was amazing! Beautiful land and so nicely organized.
France was the next stop but short one just ober night, somehow didn't feel like checking it this time. “Inter-Hotel” was nice, most important they allow animals too, saw many people with animals there. Breakfast was also tasty specially local french bread.
And finally Spain! I didn't reach my final destination right away when I drove in Spain country, so I stayed 250 km away from my final destination - new home. I did stop in city named Castellon De La Plana. Right away this city makes you Spanish atmosphere. Narrow streets with many little restaurants and I even walked past Plaza de Toros. In center of the city found nice sushi restaurant - “tu SuSHI” here you need to fill menu card yourself and then give it to the staff, they prepare it and then you go take plate you did order. This was different experience, food and wine was amazing! Spain makes you feel welcome even they all pretty much talk spanish not english but in hotels they do know english pretty well too. I did stop here in “Jaimei” hotel which has quite cool interior. But first when I walked in the hotel room strong cigarette smell did hit my nose, so I had to change room and they was fine with it so my next room was fine. With breakfast though I wasn't impressed, scrambled eggs was weird fore sure, coffee also not tasty.
Now I am at home and enjoying it but about thi I will make another post later. So hope you enjoy my road trip experience.
