Preikestolen, Norway 2011

Say hello to a “fat ass” me on 27.06.2011! Guess that is the first thing I am paying attention when I look at these photos. I just wasn’t in my best shape at all. (This is again for people who keep saying that I look the same as 9 or 10 years ago)

But of course my fat ass :D is not the main thing to look at. I am happy that I have these photos to remind me that I visited such a beautiful place as Preikestolen cliff.

I made crazy photos here, people who saw them always were in shock and could not even look at them, they said that their heads were spinning just to look at these photos.

Norway. Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises 604 metres above the fjord - Lysefjorden, it is 42-kilometre long fjord. Top of the cliff is almost flat, approximately 25 by 25 metres. Mountain plateau most probably shaped by the expansion of ice some 10,000 years ago.

This flat mountain gives you an amazing view over the fjord and the mountains around it.

We got to Preikestolen by car from Stavanger city. Also took a car ferry from Lauvvik to Oanes, and drove to Preikestolen Mountain Lodge from there. Parking is there, you need to pay for it too.

Walk will take about 2h up and 2h down. But actually walking up will take a little bit more. From my own experience I can tell that it took 3h for sure just to walk up because it is pretty steep and I need to be careful.

Definitely gotta wear the right shoes for this event. No dogs are allowed to take you with you. But you can grab some food and make a picnic at the top of the cliff, many people did so.I had just a RedBull with me, no food, RedBull can was very useful though because I could use it for water later. Water in these mountains is so clean and tasty!
