Egypt 2010

I managed to come to Egypt for a second time in 2010 this time to explore way more. It was right before revolution in Egypt which happened in 2011-2013. It was still peaceful time and many tourists been visiting. All in most traditional touristic ways so I got a good tourist programm with camels, pyramids, bedouins and it was quite a few excursions. Lets go thru it!

I did stay in Sharm El Sheikh - city made for tourists, it’s very young city only about 35 years old also very beautiful. It was march and temperature was about +30C even more. Together with my mom we picked hotel Al Bostan - very nice small hotel with a nice pool and tasty food. Red Sea is right next to the hotel and it’s amazing how many diferent colourful fishes you can see there , water is was crystal clear. BTW in 2010 Sharm El Sheikh had series of shark attacks on swimmers off the Red Sea resort. And I was lucky again because it was right after my visit.

It was my first visit to Cairo city. I really wanted to see pyramids for a long time. You can not go visit Pyramids or Cairo city by yourself, only with guides and several busses with security on both - front and back, apparently it can be dangerous.

We did drive over night for 6-7h from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo. First stop in Cairo was Abu Serga Church, Islamic Citadel and Mosque. I visited Mosque for a first time in my life and it was nice experience. It was so different for me and also had to take off shoes before walk into Mosque. I was with naked feet walking there but it was fun. Beautiful church fore sure, very exotic for me.

Second stop in Cairo was Egyptian Museum. It is big museum and definitely if you ever in Egypt this place must see! I would recommend to use guide if it is your first time in the museum to take you through to see the most important pieces. The sarcophagus collection, King Tut's treasures, the statues, artifacts, The Scribe, the list goes on…. Amazing!

Third was Cairo river Nile. This one is a standard tour included in program also. I can not say that I was impressed but it’s good to have because by that time you get hungry and it’s when you can have a meal with music, dancers, entertainers. River itself is big but dark and dirty because it is feeding all Egyptians and get used a lot.

Number four Pyramids of Cairo! ( Yeah,we managed a lot on that day! Because first of all we was in cairo from 6 or 7 in the morning.) And here’s my dream came true!

Pyramids was probably exactly how I was imagining them, really huge and blocks are damn big, not sure how they was building this thing back then. After some walking I got over excited and did climb on them, pose with them and most funny pictures you will see with Great Sphinx of Giza. I didn't go inside of Pyramids even people say it is cool to do.

But It is all fun and jokes until locals start terrorize you with they souvenirs and everyone wanted to make photo with me and my mom. Ugh this part always is getting annoying after some time. (you will see a lot of pics with locals)There also one bedouin really scared me that i did scream in his face with pitchy voice lol because he appeared so suddenly in front of me with really dark face, was damn unexpected. Then there was little boy who already was a casanova lol so I did teach him how to make rock&roll sign. Overall it was fun and I have good memories and quite some pics.

Later when we went back to Sharm El Sheikh we took a “bedouin tour”. This is where you can ride a real camel and try bedouin food, watch they show, smoke waterpipe and also go on 4 wheel motorcycle thru the desert all by yourself. This one was damn fun I loved it a lot because I enjoy such activities so much! That’s shortly about my trip in Egypt in 2010. I hope you will enjoy this as I did, going thru all those photos and living thru it once again such a feeling. The reason why I always make so many photos on my travels is a memories which are priceless, every minute is amazing. And experience I got from this is golden! I will definitely share my another adventure in Egypt later, it was also fun and I went to different cities too. :)
