United Buddy Bears in Riga

Every one of the 143 bear figures are painted individually by a known artist from the respective country. The Latvian bear figure is painted by Kaspars Zariņš, and symbolizes happiness and optimism. There are also five special bears, and this exhibition also featured a Riga Bear, which will remain in the Latvian capital. The Riga Bear is painted by children.

I met this bears before in Berlin in 2011. It was fun to see them again in Riga. I have to say that some bears look different from times when I saw then in 2011. I will share next gallery right after this one to show you the difference of there Buddy Bears. USA bear though seems looking exactly the same but Russia bear is def different and also Latvia one is not the same. I did enjoy Irish and some African bears those seems so cheesy.
