Cabezón de Oro

The mountain is most famous for the show caves of the Cuevas de Canelobre and, although the seaward side of the hill looks tame, the western face features some extensive sheets of high quality rock.

Cabezon de oro is 1210 m high. It is worth climbing to the top because the views are great, from there can see Alicante, beach of San Juan, Villajoyosa and Benidorm (check on my photos). Walking up and down took about 7h including spending one hour on the top itself - eating and drinking, resting and making photos.. February or march is a great time when to do it because not so hot and even then you still heat up and it gets really warm.

You have several ways to climb in that area, check caves Canelobre also. I did try only Cabezon de oro and I think anyone could do it, as it was not as serious climbing but mostly walking up.

Canelobre caves though can be reached by car, there is parking, this one I am planning to do but we will see when. Then I promise to share it!
